Carbon Trading Yorkshire Launches

Carbon Trading Yorkshire (CTY) is an initiative developed to enable partner organisations to gain experience in carbon trading and develop skills to both maximise opportunity and mitigate risks from forthcoming legislation.

The Governments Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), an example of forthcoming legislation, goes live in January 2010. Many of you will fall within it and be required to meet its conditions. CTY provides your organisation with a risk free simulation of the Carbon Reduction Commitment. CTY will assist you to meet reporting and financial requirements. For all, it offers an introduction and understanding of carbon trading.

As the UK’s first practise carbon trading scheme open to both public and private sectors, CTY will use actual energy data from your organisation, but have a simulated financial risk.
