Low carbon infrastructure fund
09 July 2009

£20.96m capital funding has been made available from the Treasury housing stimulus package for low carbon infrastructure exemplars in the Growth Points and Growth Areas, to reduce carbon emissions from housing.

Future housing will be required to have lower carbon outputs. On larger schemes it is possible to reduce the costs of achieving higher levels of carbon compliance by investing in site wide energy solutions now.

We are working with Local Authorities and the Growth Points to develop exemplar schemes covering a range of sustainability issues, which might include low carbon energy projects, like district heating schemes.
