Why Waste is working with TEG Environmental to divert some of this from landfill. Thanks to the support of Resource Efficiency Yorkshire, Why Waste is promoting the the TEG commercial food waste collection service to businesses in the Calderdale and Bradford areas. The work will also include research into potential improvements for commercial food waste collection services.

TEG provide participating businesses with a 240L wheeled bin which is emptied weekly by a dedicated vehicle. The food waste is taken to TEG's state of the art, in-vessel composting facility in Todmorden where it is transformed into high quality compost. Participating organisations already include the Yorkshire Building Society, Bradford University and Bradford College. 

They are keen to hear from any businesses producing food waste in the Bradford or Calderdale areas.
