Enter the 2010 Prime Minister's Award
10 March 2010

Entries are now open for this year’s Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award which recognises excellence in both design and procurement.

Public sector clients, architects, project managers, built environment professionals and contractors can submit an entry. You can enter any new project that has helped to improve public services. Its size and budget do not matter. Your entry could be a new school, hospital, library, museum, bridge, station, city centre square or other public space. Last year’s winner was Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College.

Iit could be a smaller project. Footbridges, a park café, memorial garden and rooftop nursery have all been shortlisted in the past.

Is your project eligible?
To be eligible for this year’s award, projects must have been:
• commissioned by or on behalf of central or local government or by a grant-aided organisation
• completed after 1 January 2009 and come into use by 31 January 2010.
The judges look for high-quality design; efficient procurement; economic and social value; good team work between client, designer and contractor; sound financial management; whole-life value for money; client satisfaction; and sustainability.
If you know of an eligible project, please encourage those involved to enter for the award.

How can I enter?
Register and find more information about the award, including the judges and previous winning and shortlisted projects.

The closing date for entries is 15 April 2010.
