Integreat Yorkshire, part of Yorkshire Forward’s Environment Directorate, is here to help provide the Region’s decision and policy makers, and ‘place-making’ professionals with the knowledge and skills to achieve the Great Places that sit at the heart of the Regional Economic Strategy. In doing this we will help meet the twin challenges of the Sub National Review and recession, assist Yorkshire Forward and its partners to develop additional capacity, and continue to establish the region as a centre of excellence in place making.
We aim to:
1. grow the region’s capacity for economic development, regeneration and place making by better knowledge transfer, learning, networking, and sharing of good practice
2. facilitate the growth of generic and cross-sector skills among place-making professionals in order that they can work more effectively together on place making
3. ensure decision makers in the public, private, voluntary and communities sector have full access to Integreat’s information and services to ensure more informed practice around place making
These are to be delivered through the Great Places Learning Programme, which has three distinct strands:
Programme 1: Growing people’s skills to make Great Places
Programme 2: Designs for Yorkshire & the Humber
Programme 3: Driving knowledge into practice
Through each of these strands will run the existing themes of Great Thinking, Great Working and Great Learning.
