In common with all the English Regions, Yorkshire and The Humber has developed a Regional Forestry Strategy to guide future development and management of our tree and woodland resource.

The Northern Way

The Northern Way is a unique collaboration between the three Northern Regional Development Agencies: Yorkshire Forward, Northwest Regional Development Agency and One NorthEast. This is a 20 year strategy to transform the economy of the North of England and on tackling issues that are important for the whole of the North and which cannot be tackled by one region alone.

The Northern Connection (Jan 08) offers important new insights into the economic links between cities and regions and about the continuing and increasing importance of the key urban centres in driving growth and development. The main report summarises the results of a research programme commissioned in 2007 by the Northern Way. (PDF)

Shaping the North's Cities/Residential Futures (Jul 07) This provides for the first time an overview into how the cities of the North need to improve their residential offer, focusing on everything from urban design and the quality of surrounding areas to available services and open spaces. (PDF)
