A number of small workshops will be taking place in Halifax as part of Planning for BME Communities programme. Various groups representing children, women and elderly people will attend the workshops in November, and a questionnaire will be distributed to small businesses and at the mosques. The workshops are aimed at helping people from Halifax get involved in the Core Strategy in conjunction with the Park Community Initiative, a neighbourhood management programme run by the Council. The Council’s team of community link workers aim to connect people to the service providers in the area and also to help people give their views to local decision-makers.
In Bradford, the programme is continuing to engage people in the Core Strategy and the Bradford City Centre Area Action Plan. The programme is also running a session for the City Centre Detached Project, which is part of Bradford’s Youth Service and consists of a group of young people from diverse backgrounds.
If you would like to find out more about any of the above events, or if you are interested in Yorkshire Planning Aid running a session for you please contact Lynsey Brownnutt, the BME Project Worker, on 0113 2378425, or by email on lynsey.brownnutt@planningaid.rtpi.org.uk.
