What we do

Castleford Bridge

At Integreat Plus we know that making great places isn't easy. There are many complex stages during the design and procurement process where wrong decisions can lead to costly mistakes, delays and complications.  When you involve a broad mix of people, things can get even more complicated.

We know that well designed places can transform a rural community, urban neighbourhood and improve the quality of life of it's people.  If place making effectively engages, inspires and mobilises people and organisations, it can:

  • result in more creative, dynamic and sustainable communities and places
  • save valuable time and resources on project development and delivery
  • help to build support and collaboration within the community

At Integreat Plus we work to give everyone involved in developing places the skills and confidence to work together to find the best outcomes whether they are Councillors, Council officers, project leaders, local people or other members of the community.

We combine hands-on support with the sharing of experiences to learn from those in different sectors and disciplines involved in built environment projects.

We are committed to making our programmes fully accessible and provide subsidised access to events, training and support.

All proceeds from commissioned work are reinvested in supporting communities.

Our key programmes are:

Integreat Plus seeks to bring impartial, independent expertise to help those leading projects in developing great places that involve and benefit local people.

Our role is as an independent technical resource, enables and gives people the tools and confidence to move projects forward through an effective, collaborative process, and helps them to avoid costly mistakes and delays. We offer those actively involved

  • skills development
  • practical advice
  • technical support

Our aim is to make each project we support more likely to succeed.

Urbanism, economic development and place-making processes, together with community participation, are complex. Combining these effectively can be a daunting process and if not done right, can lead to more problems than solutions.

Integreat Plus helps organisations to take a more strategic and practical approach to working with people to develop a vision for their place and to work collaboratively throughout the various stages of projects.

Many people still know little about effective place making and its benefits.

We use the experience and learning from all the projects that we and others have supported to promote learning, discussion and debate.

Through various events and activities, Integreat Plus creates a neutral space to explore the opportunities and challenges faced by delivering Great Places, bringing together people from different sectors and disciplines to share their experience and expertise.
